The Athertons’ first and only US project, The Clocktower is billed as offering ‘a taste of London in bustling Madison Square Park’. They added that they would ‘deeply miss operating a restaurant in New York’ and that they ‘can’t wait to be back in the vibrant city soon’. In a statement, the Athertons said they were proud of what the team had achieved and thanked The EDITION New York, as well as Steven Starr personally ‘for being professional and courteous throughout the partnership’. The pair launched the Madison Avenue restaurant in 2015 at The EDITION New York and won a Michelin star two years later.
